This assignment builds on Part 1. You will continue to focus your research on the cultural group you selected in Topic 1. Write 500-750 words in response to the following:

  1. Clarify the definitions as well as compare and contrast the concepts of stereotyping and ethnocentrism.
  2. Find concrete examples that show how this group is represented by local and/or national media (This could include Comic Strips, Newspaper Articles, Advertisements, TV Shows, etc.). Give specific examples of stereotyping and ethnocentrism.
  3. Outline concrete examples of how these media caricatures influence people’s perceptions of this culture. Next, explain how these perceptions (as elements of the media consumer’s worldview) might influence their attitudes and behaviors when interacting with someone from that culture.
  4. Two to three academic resources are required for this assignment.
